We teach from PYP through MYP to the final Diploma year. If the subject you need is not listed, ask — it is almost certainly one we cover.
The DP core: IA, EE and TOK
The core is where Diploma students lose marks they had already earned in the subject, because it runs on independent deadlines that nobody chases. We work on all three.
Internal Assessment (IA)
The coursework component in each subject, internally marked and externally moderated. We work through it with the student rather than around it — structure, method, analysis, and the criteria it is actually marked against.
Extended Essay (EE)
The 4,000-word independent research essay. Most of the difficulty is the research question and the schedule, both of which are far easier to fix early than late.
Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
The core course, its essay and the exhibition. Assessed on how an argument is built, which is a different skill from the one the subjects reward.
Because classes are one-to-one, a session goes wherever the student needs it that week — a past paper, an IA draft, or a topic the school moved past too quickly. There is no fixed class to keep up with.
What we actually track
Tuition usually stops at the lesson. Ours does not, because a student rarely stalls for the reason anyone assumes. We count three things every month, and act on whichever one slips.
Attendance
Classes subscribed against classes attended. Two missed hours do not sound like much, but the syllabus does not pause.
Homework
Work set against work attempted. This is usually the first thing to go, and the easiest to miss until the marks move.
Monthly papers
One paper a month, marked concept by concept rather than as a single total, so a weak topic is visible before the exam finds it.
Diagnostics
Run on joining — on the previous year's material, not this year's — then again as the year moves. Most of what goes wrong in the final year was left unfinished before it.
Parents get that in writing once a month: what was attended, what was attempted, what was scored, and what we did about it.
Why IB students stall
In our experience an IB student who is not getting the grade is stuck in exactly one of three places, and each has a different fix.
Irregularity
The classes are subscribed but not attended. With the Diploma's workload, two missed sessions in a month compound faster than in any other curriculum.
Inconsistency
The work is set but not attempted. Internal assessments and problem sets slip behind the subjects with louder deadlines.
A comprehension gap
Everything is attended and attempted and the score is still flat. This is the only one of the three that is actually about teaching, and it is the rarest.
Guessing which one it is wastes a term. Counting tells you in a month.

Which IB programmes do you tutor?
PYP, MYP and the Diploma Programme.
Do you help with the Internal Assessment, Extended Essay and TOK?
Yes, all three. The IA is worked through alongside the subject. The Extended Essay usually needs the research question and the schedule sorted early. TOK is assessed on how an argument is built, which is a different skill from the one the subjects reward.
Do you cover both Maths AA and Maths AI?
Yes, at both Standard and Higher Level.
Can you help with the internal assessment?
Yes. IA work is part of the subject teaching in Physics, Chemistry and the other DP sciences.
Do you teach international boards?
Yes — the international curricula we teach are the IB (MYP and Diploma) and Cambridge International (Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and AS & A Level), plus the SAT, which sits on top of any curriculum. We do not teach Indian boards such as CBSE or ICSE.
Do you offer tuition near me?
Every class is one-to-one and online, so there is no travel and no catchment area. Students join from wherever they are — StudyWise currently teaches 100+ students across 5+ countries — and keep the same teacher and the same weekly slot wherever they move.
Are the classes one-to-one or in a group?
One-to-one, always. One student and one teacher, sixty minutes, weekly, in the same slot. There is no group teaching.
Are lessons recorded?
No. Classes are live and are not recorded.
Is there an app or a portal to log into?
No. Tracking is internal to StudyWise and reported to parents in a written monthly update. There is no dashboard for students or parents to log into.
Do you use AI to teach?
No. AI is used internally only, to help staff read across a term of attendance, homework and paper marks faster than a person can. There is no chatbot and no automated question solver. A person reads the output and a person decides what to do.
